The Board of Directors

Morning lads. I'll cut right to the chase.

Me and Dave Beck were talking to Sam (ex-head steward, now head safety officer) the other week, and it came to our attention that recently, the Board of Directors asked her to define "the difference between the Red Blue Army, and the A-Company". So basically, we've been labelled as hooligans, as they think we're the same as the A-Company.

I would personally call this an insult. The work we do for the club, in terms of atmosphere, is second to no other team in the conference. It's clear that the board do not know their own fan base. Why should we be tarred with the same brush as hooligans?

We need to let the B.o.D know who we are, and what we do. There is only one way of letting them know this. I propose a boycott of everything we do, for the Farsley Celtic game on Saturday 22nd September. This means no flags, no banners. No singing, no display. We go down the High Street end, and we watch the game from there. No atmosphere whatsoever.

Everyone would notice. The directors box would notice. The manager would notice. The players would notice. We need to show the Board who we really are, and not just a bunch of mindless thugs out looking for trouble. We are a lot more than that.

Surely this is abit extreme all the hard work is to spur the players on and help lift their performance. There must b a more rasional way of dealing with the situation.

Fatboy in the fact we need to let them know who we are and what we do is right because they need to know what we di and who we are. However boycotting the farsley celtic game is wrong it not the borad we get behind it the team.

Maybe do a display before the game saying somthing like (i dunno) board of directors RBA not hooliganssomthing like that but once the game gets under way we got to get behind the team.

3 points is the most important thing

IMO best thing to do would be to put all the banners upside down and have the first 10/15 mins of the game silent. All stand in the East Bank as always ofcourse.

You do need to do something. All the best.

i think we should demand a meeting with the board of directors and let them know  what we think about this insult, i bet its because those little ****s that cause trouble stand with the rba and they think they are part of us.
what did sam tell them in replyconfused

I'm thinking either no banners at all or as said previously turn them upside down. But we should show who we are.
It's disappointing for them to think that we're a group of hooligans, after Chappie has even pointed out what our web address is ;).
If you don't want to take part and you're "happy" to be labelled with 'those' dicks then do so but there are some of us who do care.

I very much doubt it that the D.o.B called us hooligans?! Something's probably been heard wrongly or someone's taken something the wrong way! You know...a bit like the game 'Chinese Whispers' !

I know for a fact that several people on the board appreciate all the hard work the RBA does for the club. Wether it's displays on matchdays or general fund raising ideas, the club are grateful for all that we do.

Fatboy/ Dave B maybe you should have a proper chat with Sam before you go of starting some crusade?!

Over and Out People biggrin

Shearer,

I think that's a fair point but if it is true as to what they've said or even some of the board.
My last message sounds ****ty, so please don't take it that way - it's not suppose to sound like that.

Without the RBA this club would be mid-table every year and maybe even battle relegation, I dont know if you notice, the clubs with the bigger fanbases are near the top and play-off places every season.

FATBOY you should post this on the ShotsWeb message board, Mr McGinty reads that one I read it in the Droylseden programme, just let him see what we actually are about.

No, let's keep it on here. Nothing to do with Shots Web or the people on there.

Well, in my eyes, if we were to say no banners, but still be in the East Bank, they'd just think the person who had the banners wasn't here. If there was a considerably less amount of people and noise, they would notice. The BoD need to be shown what it'd be like if there were no RBA whatsoever.

To be fair though, it's not just us who sing or start the songs, it's those further back too and I do doubt whether they'd follow suit or not.

hay i wouldnt worry to much about what sam says, there is a new member on the board so he might not no what your all about and asked her, iam sure those who've been on the board a while no what an important part in the sucsess of the club you all play..and if you did all go down the high street end for a bit of a protest the young chav hoolies might come and join you, then it would look like there somthing to do with the red and blue army.
so as sung by the famous chelsea ****em allsmile

As Fatboy said if you simply don´t put the banners out it seems as if you could´nt be bothered on the day.

Banners upside down will make the directors look up and think why the hell are they doing that? Ultra groups across Europe do this for protests especially in Spain,Italy and Germany.

Question is, if you don´t sing for say 15 mins at the start of the game will the rest of the East Bank follow suit in respect? Or just carry on?? confused

That's the problem. Because not every person in the East Bank goes on this forum. That's why, at least if we left the East Bank, it would be more noticeable.
