Well almost.......As I'm staying down in the South-West this week and A'shot game was shown on re-run via Setanta at midnight........
I decided to go watch my Old mans local team play in the Cornwall Senior cup tonight, Saltash Utd vs Bodmin Town. The ashes were 2-0 up and cruising until a mistake by Saltash's goal-keeper let Bodmin back into the game at 2-1. A late goal 2 mins from time meant the game was level and would go into extra time. (sound familiar yet!!??) In extra time, the Ashes dominated and scored 3 goals making the final score 5-2 to Salash Utd. When I arrived home I continued to watch the Shots game on the repeat after managing to stay away from the score. As the game unfolded in a very similar fashion to the game I'd been wittnessing earlier(Albeit that Crawley took a 1-0 lead, although it did occur from a keeper error!) Then as Crawley equalised with 2 mins left on the clock and it appeared the game would be going into extra time, My Dad joked that A'shot would go on to win 5-2.......As Donnelly superbly lobbed Bayes for the 3rd extra time goal and A'shots 5th of the night, We just couldn't believe what we were watching!! It seemed a freakish event only made better by Rhys Day's perfectly placed back post header to make the final score 6-2!!! So nearly a carbon copy of the other game which actually kicked off at the same time, so also in syncronisation with each other! All in all, I watched 4 hours of Football with 15 goals between them.....Not a bad night at all, certainly better than my evening last Tuesday night!!
