Since we've started taking money in for membership, I thought I'd put a bounce on merchandise, particularly scarves and badges. However, since scarves are a slightly bigger money maker, I'll focus on that at the moment.
I'm too lazy to find the older thread what we had during pre-pre-season, so I'll open this up. Basically we need some designs, and the best, say, 5, will be voted on. The top 2 designs will be used, one on the front, and one on the back.
I'm assuming we'll need at least 50 scarves to be ordered, but I'll have a chat with Tony/Frank/Alex/Chappie and come to a decision on how many we need, since we can't afford to have "dead stock". Prices of the scaves will be the usual £10 for members, £12 for non-members.
Fatboy, we have £190 in membership money so far if that helps with the order. Hopefully that will go up after the Chelsea game on Saturday. Only problem is that I am not authorised to withdraw money. I'm not totally sure but I think Alex and Frank are the only people that can do this at the moment. Being that Frank is in South America we are gonna have to rely on Alex before we can get to the money to buy stock.
Well once we get some designs up we'll have a look.
Are we getting a number of scarfs and hoping we can sell, or a speicific number of scarves?
I know some wont agree with me on what i'm about to propose, as the non-RBA members wearing scarves is a serious issue for some, and it did used to annoy me, but not so much anymore.
The RBA don't have much money, so why not advertise the scarves around shotsweb, and generally get as many people to purchase a scarf as possible, then order a specific amount of scarves, this way we aren't losing any money and we don't have any stock lieing around anywhere.
Also, by advertising around, getting as many to buy scarves as possible, surely we're making a significant profit out of it?
I know the dis-advantage of this is that we may not have the money in the short term, but in the long term in terms of profits, defffinetly worth considering...
What I was thinking of is that we purchase 50 (minimum order). If they sell well, and I think they will, then we can order some more. At least then we will have the money to do so. However, we don't quite have the money to spend on 100 scarves right now.
But we do know that they are a good seller, so it's likely we'll double our bank balance by doing so.
