just wondering if anyone else has heard rumour's of a takeover happening with Aldershot, I've heard a few people mention it now quietly at games????

i havent heard anything.

have you looked through the shotsweb message board

they might be able to giv you some information on the subject.

go through all the websites aswell like bbc sport and stuff like that

No 1. - 90% of the shotsweb message board is a load of bollocks.

No 2. - If there was going to be a takeover i would think that the club would keep silent on the issue.

Also, there would most probably be a transfer embargo impeeded on us which would then not allow any loan signings aswell as permanent signings. IMO, just a rumour. Weve got 3 in on loan and Cochrane on a deal till end of the season.

For an example, anyone heard about bournemouth and the guy they had on loan from saints? Jake Thomson? ....

oh well i was nearly right about a 'takeover' haha..........there calling it a change in board members with an 'Investment Board' and an 'Operations Board'.

I wouldn't get too carried away!
we are not talking big sums of money - certainly nowhere near enough to make a difference to the playing budget
Don't be surprised if GW's playing budget for 2009/10 is cut back from this season

Added together - yes it will be a six figure sum, but it will be just about enough to clear the current debt (which is a positive)
The big questions will be how will these guys run the club in the future - and do they know how to run a football club (not the same as running a successful business) and do they ALL care about the club enough to do the right things???
I hope the answers to these questions is yes, but for some reason my gut instinct is telling me this doesn't feel quite right.

its alright-tim's getting worried that we're going to overtake po,pey in league standings soon. we'll probably meet in the championshionship in the 5 years - if doncaster can and yeovil nearly did, so can we!

The club wont go out spending money left, right and centre, with what happened to the old club I think the chairman will be spending money very carefully.

Does anyone know who the four players were at the night club. It seems to be a big topic on shots web message board. Perhaps the extra money that the directors are putting in is to pay for their bar tab? The next fans forum should be interesting, a few red faces me thinks! Perhaps if the rumours are true, a few weeks wage fines could go to help the club out!
