Gary Waddock moved quickly to cover the loss of long-serving keeper Nikki Bull by signing 22-year-old Southend United stopper Clark Masters on a one year deal.
Masters, who hails from Bully's hometown of Hastings and stands 6'3", began as a scholar at Brentford. He signed full pro forms in July 2004. He was loaned to Slough Town during the 2005-06 season and had to wait until the opening day of the 2006-07 season to make his Bees debut against Blackpool. 13 more first team appearances followed that season plus a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon.
