Hi mate.

We use two different drums at the moment, which may be different from what videos you've seen as it's relatively new.

We use a 16" x 16" floor tom drum, with a single top skin (2 skins dampens the sound too much). It's pretty much one of these, with the legs and lugs taken off for comfort. It gives a similar sound to a bass drum, but is a lot smaller and compact so it's easier to take to other grounds and so on.

We then use a snare also, for more intricate use (Great Escape, etc). You'll need a proper drummer to use one, or a hell of a lot of practice, otherwise it will sound pathetic. It may well be an idea to not do this at all, and stick with just a bass drum.

Have a shop around and see what you can find, because you can get some good drums on EBay for quite cheap. Similarly, you get what you pay for, so if you get a crap one and don't look after it, then don't expect it to last long.
