We need everyone to be in full voice on Saturday. We don't want any risk of being out-sung by our nearest neighbours this season! Don't forget the red T'Shirts and lets get behind the lads right from the start. Remember that they won't be used to hearing vocal support like the East Bank (at its best!) - so lets make sure that our noise intimidates them into being quiet!!
This highlights the problem in the Eastbank and why its likely we will get outsung by AFCW. There is too much division and not enough togetherness. We need more respect for each other.
We all support the same team after all and all want the same thing. To make a lot of noise and make an atmosphere to be proud of. No matter what the song is, as long as is not racist abuse we should all join in to make the place rock.
There are songs I don't like but I still join in to keep the atmosphere going. There is nothing worse than one song started and then another sung over the top to drown it out. It sounds pants.
I stood at the back a couple of games ago and this was really noticable. There were times though when everyone joined in together and it sounded fantastic. So we are capable of pulling it off but we should do it for 90 mins and respect all songs for what they are, football chants.
Some of the new songs that have been brought in over the last couple of years have been fantastic and really add to the atmosphere as everyone joins in. But now it seems the done thing to sing over some of the older chants that have been sung for years. All this is acheiving is tension on the Eastbank and its killing the atmosphere.
Sometimes in life you have to compromise and do things you'd rather not or at least tolorate them. ie chants you don't like. Joining in would help but if u cant bring yourself to sing it simply stay quiet. But to sing over it really is causing annomosity on the terrace. It really saddened me to see this the other day.
It would be nice to see us all come together and sing our hearts out for the next game at least. We did it at West Ham so no reason why we can't recreate it on the Eastbank and get the Rec rocking again.
If we continue the way we have been though, there will be only one outcome- Outsung by the wombles
Well done everyone yesterday. A great effort and thought we sounded loud. I've heard some people say the away fans outsung us but I thought we shaded it and was an all round good atmosphere from both sets of fans.
