I went on a road trip up north this weekend to celebrate the 17-19 Feb. We were in Newcastle on Saturday and went along to SJP for the FA cup tie versus Southampton (I was wearng my Aldershot scarf)
Here is a geordie song that can be adapted to the red blue army: (to the song of you are my Aldershot)
We are the geordies,
The geordie people (I think it is people!)
We are mental and we are mad
we are the loudest football supporters
that the world has ever had
ah we're the geordies... etc
I think substitute a couple of lines to make:
We are the army,
The redblue army
We are mental and we are mad
we are the loudest football supporters
that the world has ever had
ah we're the army... etc
What do you think? It sounded very good at Newcastle.

ah well! Trying to undertand them talking is hard enough let alone chanting! I think 'loudest' sounds better than 'loyalist' anyway. And boot boys? Whats that all about!?! Still a better atmposhere on the EB.
Im ashamed to say that in recent years the atmosphere @ SJP has toned down a LOT. They were once the loudest and best football fans in the country!
They were still pretty crazy. They sang "shoes off if you love the toon" (to the song of stand up for the Aldershot) and all held their shoes in the air! Saw lots without shirts too despite the cold!
I think that the problem is with all seater stands and moaning stewards (telling them not to bang on the back of the stand). The music and the family club image has, for me , ruined top flight football forever. I hope we never lose Aldershot to the commercialisation and americanisation that has strangled the beautiful game. Terraces and atmosphere beats all seaters and quiet anyday.

The Eastbank is by far the best.-- Edited by Bear at 16:26, 2006-02-20
Yes i remember the "shoes off if you love the toon" lol. As for the shirts off, i was one of those in the FA Cup 4th Round vs Liverpool at Anfield two years ago. They are mental in a passionate way. Football is so passionate in the North East. I have to agree though that top flight football is losing to commercialisation
