How many people would like to see this team play next seaon for us? Just think it could happen with all the players we have and problems of other teams:
Bully (c) - Aldershot through and through best keeper in conference by far.
Giles - Get him back from Crawely with all there problems. Somner - allows him to play in his preferd position with Giles at RB! Simpemba - Sign him from Crawely as well. Been a rock at back with Somner since signing from Crawely on loan. Barnard - explains it all really, when on top of his game best LB in the conference. Qualiy in all areas of game and old head with experience as well.
Critts - this season says it all really Lee best player before his injury, controlled midfield at start of season and at end of last year. Holloway been one of best players since he scored his first goal, gone from strength to strength Williams ripped Exeter apart on his first game back, started to be same player from his loan spell.
Dixon on loan spell, enjoys playing here. Only problem will he sign? Sills if oxford come down how many people would welcome him back?
Bench Weait good number 2 to Bull, played well when called upon in Hampshire Cup. Hamilton improved as season gone on, one for future. Scott one for the future as well, improved all season Hudson pace forward would link up well with a sills like player Leroy quality player that plays to crowd, only problem goes a bit awol at times.
In squad: Watson if bring back form of last season strike ? Similar lines to sills, as doubt were get sills strike x As dont think Dixon will sign, hope i'm wrong. Defender able to play at centre back, cover for Somner and Simpemba Defender able to play at R.B Winfield Shot through and through, played with broken nose on Tuesday.
To be fair the team that I named only included signing 4 new players, namely Green, Bentley, Challers and Dixon. Signing 4 new players in the summer is not unrealistic, think how many players we have signed pre-season in other recent seasons....
Now you could argue that Hereford could get promoted and may decide to unload Green, so he would want to go to a side with aspirations for the title. Bentley might finally get tired of living in the cold and the wet of the north and knowing what an admirer TB is of him might like to try his luck. Challinor and TB might kiss and make up, and he might wish he'd never left, because he realises Exeter always look good on paper, but just can't quite hold it together to make the play-offs and Dixon might decide that its finally time to move on from Wycombe, and where better to come than somewhere he is familiar with.
Unrealistic? Maybe, but it gives a general idea of the calibre of player that we need for next season if we are to achieve TB and KP's stated aim of winning the league....
Well I dont think we will sign many players I feel dixon will want to play league footy at a team maybe at say oxford's standards and I dont think players will want to come to a football team finishing in mid table all players wish to progress so they will be looking at teams such as exeter and hereford ect.Well done to carlisle im proud to have gone out by them now obvcorse I didnt want it to end like that but they are now top of league 2 by 6 points with a game in hand!
I dont think players will want to come to a football team finishing in mid table
But by that reasoning then teams who do not finish in the top 6 in the league are never going to do so, because no decent players are going to want to come to them.
In that respect, why did Jon Challinor want to go to Exeter? We finished higher last season than Exeter did. In fact we have finished higher than Exeter in the last two seasons. One of which we were penalties away from the Football League.
There are more factors deciding as to whether players want to play for a team than just the League position that they finished in last season. For example, good training facilities, big crowds, passionate crowds, a manager they respect, the wages they are offered, the location of the team etc. There are many many factors that could be taken into consideration.
