If you actually get your facts right, you will realise that he has left Canvey Island, because he is actually losing money to the club. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that he is losing 7 grand a week whilst he is putting money into Canvey Island.
Well if he was so loyal he wouldnt go 2 another club and he should attract more spectators life is bigger than the island is what he should be thinking about

Well to be fair to Mr King he has been putting money into Canvey Island now for several years (I read somewhere he is losing around £8k per week keeping the club going). He has taken them from the lowly depths of the Essex Senior Leagues to the Conference National. Yet despite moving so far up the pyramid the fans have still not turned up.
There is only so long you can keeping putting your own money in if you are losing that much, at the end of the day you also need a reasonable sized fanbase, and Canvey Island can't attract that.
So you can't really blame him for wanting to move on from that, it just yet again emphasises the fact that a big money backer is not the answer to everything, you need to have the foundations there to allow progress.
Im not sure who u are younger fan but if you were putting all your money into the club and not getting any money out you are going to lose money aren't you and as football is a business you may be going up but if you cant sell football to the scummers of canvey then you cant get anything out of it.
Yeah but i'd like 2 go 2 canvey's ground and if i was put in that situation i'd try 2 attract more spectators OFF THE ISLAND!!! and i wouldnt move 2 another club i'd just quit from it....

If i purchased a dog and it didn't bark i'd use my money to pay a vet to take a look at him, if i'd been spending excess amounts of pounds for several years and the dog still didn't bark i'd stop putting money into the vets hands but i wouldn't get rid of the dog.
This may seem like a rather strange/stupid/pointless thread but i feel i need to drop to your level as so you can understand me =)
Jeff King is a buisnessman who wants to put money into a club that he can watch grow and progress, canvey are doing neither so he's moving on, makes sense to me, why should he quit what he loves?

as fat boy says the bloke is loosing 7k a week to people like ourselfs well the majority its like loosing 70 quid a day for nothing money soon runs down (mick we all know ur loaded so dont bother commenting) to loose 7k a week (im not sure on this) you would need atleast 8 million in the bank to keep steady if not the money just wastes away
if i loved washing cars and did it for a living id soon quit if my cleaning gear was costing me more than i was getting paid
