well in my opinion very well done to Theo Walcott BUT i dont think he should have chossen him over the likes of D.Bent ,defoe, or even Andy Johnson

standbye players are;

Scott Carson (Liverpool), Luke Young (Charlton), Nigel Reo-Coker (West Ham), Jermain Defoe (West Ham), Andy Johnson (Crystal Palace)

I don't think Downing's played enough games this season to prove his worth for an England place - Joe Cole is one of the most creative players we have, and I would be very surprised if anyone other than him played on the left of midfield.

That England team is ****!

I wouldn't have put Owen Hagreaves in the squad at all...Sean Wright-Phillips all day long!

What the **** is little Theo in the set up for completely unproven at International level scored a handfull of goals for Southampton when in the Championship whats all the fuss....WOW Arsenal signed him..BIG MISTAKE in my view. Jermain Defoe all day long experienced and a proven premiership goal scorer..has Sven gone mad?!

Congratulations to Lennon though, certainly deserves a place after his last dozen or so performances he could be a real big star this summer

What do I know 'ey I support Alder****

Maybe, just maybe, choosing Walcott and Lennon could be a godsend.

Fair enough, they both have no caps at all, but that could be a good thing.

See, they have no caps, so this means no-one has seem them play at international level. But this means that no international teams have seem them at international level. So what could they do to defend against them? They would not have a gameplan against them players, therefore would be stuck.

Let's be honest, no self-respecting centre back is going to catch Theo Walcott, and they haven't seen him play in a good season or so, so therefore will not be able to predict his playing style. This goes the same for Lennon.

Could these two picks be pure genius? Or just pure gambling?

Wallcott is a risk but could be a worthwhile risk and only time will tell, owen hargreaves? what a joke! personally i think svens just picked who he wants in the squad not who the majority of the country feel has earned a place and i feel that's a real big kick in the teeth to a number of players who have worked so hard this season to try and earn a spot. Sven is proven for doing this anyway, he dropped john terry not so long ago after terry scored the winning goal in the previous game to make way for michael owen who hadn't played a match in months due to injury, he's picked two crooked forwards and peter crouch who just aswell be crooked, no offense but i don't think he makes the grade. personally i don't think sven cares, it's not like he's got to try to earn a new contract so he's just selected his favourites and if the team do well then he'll make out he had it all planned and if the team do sh|t then he'll make his excuses but won't really give a fuc]{ because he knows he's still getting paid!

hes one of the best left midfield players in the world frank!! i'd have 2 kill sven if he doesnt start him on the left flank!

I think Sven knows what he is doing.

Although he is leaving after The World Cup putting Lennon and Walcott is thinking for the future. Having all these experienced players alongside them will give them knowledge, this will aid Steve Mclaren greatly.

have to disagree there, fair play downing is good but not world class. he is too hot and cold, his crosses are excellent WHEN he gets them past the first defender and all too often it doesnt.

good enough for the squad? i think so. good enough to start? affraid not. joe cole is first choice all day everyday and his ability is far more supperior to downings. C'mon the England!!!!!!
