Crittenden, 27, has agreed an initial 12-month contract with the Wessex Stadium club.
The former Chelsea and Yeovil player ends a two-year stay at Aldershot to join the Terras ahead of their return to the Conference top-flight.
Crittenden was also believed to have been a transfer target for Exeter City manager Alex Inglethorpe.
