obviously as england fans we are all disappointed to micheal owen out of the world cup so early and the bad news is we can't bring in ne1 to replace him in the squad onli left with two strikers with expierience  crouch and rooney

Don't think so FATBOY if anyone it would be gerrard behind the lone striker which cannot be crouch because he is useless with noone to flick it on to.Theo Walcott what a place to get famous he could be a hero at the end of this but again he could end up hated by a lot of people.

Stevie Gerrard would be **** as a lone striker! He's best when he can view the play ahead of him and then make the run, just look at his header against Sweden!

whatever stick walcott (no point him being there to warm the bench i could have done that and enjoyed the games whereas walcott is disapointed he's not playing) on see how he does with rooney shove crouchy on second half as a target man esp if we get desperate

crouchy is another time sill he needs the service to be right and everyone thats writing him of are dumb ****s look at his liverpool career couldnt hit a barn door scored one (confidence boost) and by the end of the season i was fed up with all the "again crouch puts in 1 2 or 3"

The biggest problem with crouch which has been covered numerous times and is actually no fault of his own is the fact that in times of desperation the defence seem to decide that they just aswell whack in a long ball to him and hope for the best, as he has stated he was bought up and taught to play with the ball on the ground, so despite being unaturally tall he's not exactly great in the air.

I've seen during a number of our world cup games that a few midfield players have been getting frustrated with the defence because of this long ball approach and i think sven needs to seriously drill home to the players that the long ball is a last resort.

Were good enough to play the ball along the floor and at our best when we do but come the second half of most of our games we seem to fall into this long ball rut, I honestly believe that with Crouch and rooney partnering up if we can just stick to the pass and move game instead of whacking the ball up the field constantly we will do so much better.

England would not be England without making the world cup as hard as possible
