As the new season is ever closer, thought it would be a good time to inform everyone of what has happened and what will be happening to the RBA at present. This will only roughly touch on certain issues but there will be a full statement put on the website in the next few days.
1) The RBA raised just over £1000 last season (not bad for the first year) of which £800 has gone to the player transfer fund and £200 has gone towards sponsoring the full home kit of Marcus Gayle for the up and coming season.
2) Although the website will have a smallish make over, it will look pretty much the same. This season our aim is to try and update the site every Monday
3) A committee is now in place to improve the running of the RBA, details of who's on the committee and each person's role will be on the website soon
4) The forum will be starting from scratch in the very near future. All messages will be deleted and messages from now on will be monitored more closely - We understand this may annoy a few people, but we believe it's a move we need to take. The main reason for this is that some of the language used on the forum recently has been unacceptable, and beause of the nature of the RBA group - we believe we need to take tougher action against those who break forum rules.
5) A display is planned for the opening home game Vs Gravesend, details will be published nearer the time.
6) Everyone wishing to be a member of the RBA this year will need to purchase or re-new their membership to the group. The cost is still £5. There will be a stall at most pre-season friendly games to give people the chance to join the RBA for the 2006/7 season.
7) Pre-made Membership cards have been purchased and will be available at the stall. Last year we didn't handle the membership card issue very well as we made them ourselves, but this year we have membership cards already made, which just need filling out on the day.
8) A new official group banner is in production, it should be completed next week some time and pictures of it will be on the site as soon as i have them.
9) The first few coach trips have been pencilled in and can be seen on the Away Travel section of this forum.
10) There is still a lot more for me to say but i think this is enough for the time being. Everything will be up on the website very soon!
Quality alex not many people appriciate the amount of effort you and the rest of the leading "staff" if you want to call them keep it up and hopefully ill get a membership card this year lol no probs mate didnt cause any inconvinience will there be a stall for membership forms 1st game back yes?
The first stall will be up for the home pre season game with Brighton on Friday 14th. The stall will be up every other home pre season game and the first few home league games. It'll be a good year for the RBA!!
Yeah, good luck for the new season, it's gonna be a good one on and off the pitch for sure. Tifo, Tifo, tifo!!!
Hopefully I will be out soon to catch a Shots match and I will be joining the RBA as any good Aldershot Fan should. Flagboy I will be in contact about payment.
