i was at the game yesterday shame about the result but fantastic noise levels from all the shots fans well done everyone who was there well freaked out the oxford fans! unlucky not to have one that one wouldnt want to be chelmsford reckon there gonna get a hammering!!!
dont let him wind you up boys let them start singing easy after a pen to take the lead having been out played for 75 mins or what ever it was. as for winding us up no it doesnt makes you lot look like a bunch of twats
The first 20 minutes we were all over you... the rest of the first half was a bit of a non-event. Second half you were on top for 20 mins or so... remainder of the second half I would say we shaded.
I can give credit that you were on top for some periods of the game so don't always look at it with a blinkered supporters view.

Yes, it could easily have been a draw. Why were we lucky though - we had a penalty and scored it, and scored another goal through open play. A mistake by your player yes, but, he was your player and it was his mistake that was capitalised upon and finished.
lucky again? what is it with other suppoerters in this league... we were unlucky to only get a draw against Altrincham... you will never see a more one sided match and the offence for their equalising penalty was only seen by one person in the stadium - including the alty fans. We have been lucky and unlucky as all teams are at times.
You lot stop giving oufc such utter crap for signing up to our board. He's registered so he could post a video from the Oxford end when celebrating their goal.
fair enough your a good footballing side and no teams will say your not. i do think you have scored a lot of last minute goals to win games e.g daggers game on telly with matt day with the goal. but to be honnest fair play because scoring goals like them win you games like yesterday and that what will win you the leauge to be hoonest.
we didnt take our chances again and that what cost us yesterday and hopfully wont cost us a play off place.

It is a 90 minute game... why is it lucky to get a goal in the last 5 minutes but not in the first 5?
Anyway, if you carrying on playing as you did yesterday then you will get in to the playoffs. then you can take that 'kin drum to some league 2 grounds!
i dont normaly say this to other fans but to be honnest i proberly over reacted i throught you came on here to wind us up and give us a load of stick. But to be fair i think you been honnest with the game and wanted to chat about the game and post the video so fair enough bit of an over reaction on my half.

No problem. I know there are some pathetic posters from all teams who go on to other forums and post utter ****e.
To be honest I though the atmosphere was really good on saturday, better than at most games in the two divisions above.
its funny whenever i look at oxfords results they always get a penalty
do you ever score from open play

Chris! we did on Saturday.
Also true that we have had quite a few penalties, but you only get them by being in the oppositon box in dangerous positions quite often in games. We very easily could have had another one against you yesterday. Think the ref bottled that one as he had already given us one. sometimes you get the decisions some times you don't.
The penalty given against us in the alty game was the most rediculous decision i have ever seen... almost
Ok Oxford fan......I have no problem you coming on here but would be nice if you could give some credit to us 1000shots fans who contributed more to the atmosphere of sats game than the 7000 of your lot did........you gotta admit, you were a bit quiet considering your top of the league! I think a draw would of been a fairer result but that's the way football goes when your on a run like your lot are.....still if not for the penalty I don't think we would of conceeded from open play as wouldn't of been pressing for an equaliser. However I will admit we looked unlikely to score ourselves even with all the possesion and build up play we had. Still think we gave you a good match and hope the same can be said when you visit the Rec next year. Just out of interest.......how would you rate us compared with other sides that have visited your place this season?
P.s. If you think we out-sung you on sat.....wait til you hear the East bank in full voice!!!
As I said previously, the game could very easily have ended as a draw, and also we may have been a little fortunate to end with a 2-0 victory. Having said that, you have to be in the position to win a penaly and if the defender makes a tackle that is a foul, is that luck or bad defending? The second goal originated from a mistake by your defender, but again, he was being closed down by the Oxford player and in a way forced into the error. Bad defending?, good closing down? Whichever it was, it's incidents like these that do win/lose games. Another point on the second goal, I also thought your keeper made a bad choice in going back to his goal as originally he was coming forward when the ball broke clear. If he had carried on coming out I think he had a good chance of getting to the ball first, as soon as he went backwards he made it much easier for Burgess.
As for support, I have also said that yes, you were impressive with your volume and the contribution you made to the atmosphere. Personally I thought the drumming (and flag) was good and added to it all, although it has been said by others on the Oxford forum, rightly or wrongly, that it appeared that the drumming drowned out your words as we couldn't make them out clearly.
I think there are a few reasons Oxfords support is not as vocal as it could be. On Saturday a fair number of the home crowd were not regulars (or haven't been for a few years). There also seems to be a problem with the general feeling at the Ka$$am compared to the old Manor - it just doesn't seem to generate the passion that many were used to there. This is also coupled with the fact that in the last few seasons we have been on a downward spiral with a general feeling of being p*ssed off by most people still attending - all different now though with the new chairman, manager and general feeling at the club - coupled with a good start to the season. Generally I think the Oxford fans make more noise at away matches than at home as they are more of the hardcore vocal support. I would imagine we will bring 1500-2000 to your place and be louder than we were at home.
As for Aldershot, I do think you have been one of the better teams we have played so far, and think that you will make the playoffs if you carry on that way. This seems to be a general feeling by those on our forum too, most of whom would rather see your teams and fans promoted than most others in the Conference.
One thought though, why is your home attendance only averaging 2,600? Seems low for a club that can generate the atmosphere you can at away games.
Long rambling posting, so I will make it my last - for now. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Cheers Oxford fan for that reply.......agreed with most of it and appreciate the positive comments. I know a lot of teams that have had new stadiums have struggled to get a good attmosphere going....bit of a mystery but could be due to the hard core fans getting mixed up amoungst quieter fans which can lower the noise level. I know that would be the case at our place if we were to mix the stands up as nearly all the noise comes from the East bank. And your right about the other mystery which is why we only get 2500 at home games??? couple of seasons ago we were getting 3500 but after a poor season last year attendances fell and have yet to recover......strange as with the players we've signed this year I thought the fans would have come flooding back but its yet to really of happened for us......hopefully a good run in the league will change this. Good luck to you boys for the rest of ur season and look forward 2 u visiting r place.
p.s. Ignore my wenger rant yesterday.......I too am a bad loser!!!
