Why is everyone getting so excited about the Chelmsford cup replay and the next round match against Basingstoke? Supporters on shotsweb think the replay attendance will be 5000-6000 and chelmsford reckon they are bringing 1000 for an evening game lol. They don't even get 1000 for most home league games and will probably bring about 200. As for all the excitement about the Basingstoke match, well firstly we have to win the reply and even then the attendance for Basingstoke will only be 2500-2800. They are not Farnborough or Woking and only get 300-400 at home. When we have played Basingstoke in the past the attendance has been similar to that of a league match against an average conference club like Northwich or Kidderminster. Yes id like to see a good cup run so the club can get a bit of money which is needed but I still think id rather see us get promoted to the football league although even that looks very unlikely now!

1.about chelmsford away support, think your right there.


2. basingstoke att. if we get through ofcourse, would easily be 3000-4000. its a local derby, its not the hampshire cup or league,its the fa cup 2nd round! and a chance of being in the hat for the 3rd round. basingstoke, would in my eyes still be classed as local rivals like farnborough and woking.


3. promtion looking a bit unlikely but still too early to say. so why not go for a cup run as well as promtion. easy!

Don't get me wrong I still class Basingstoke as a rival but I can't see them bringing much more than 500. If we beat Chelmsford I think the attendance v Basingstoke would be 3000 tops

if they took 450 up north im sure they could manage a few more for the short trip up the M3!but we got the small thing of actually getting to the 2nd round anyway

Back on topic. I think well get 3000ish against chelmsford and if we proceed i think we will get 4000-5000 against basingstoke because theyll be up for it and bring about 800-900 i dont think theyll bring more than 1000 and we will class them as local rivals like woking and farnborough

if they can take 450 fans to chesterfeild then i dont see why they cant bring 800 or so to aldershot

cup runs  can be worth loads of extra cash great adverstment for the club


with the right marketing theres no limits to how many turn up on the night


oh apart from how many they can fit in the ground!!!

I think they can bring a big crowd here, providing we reach the 2nd round, and they might even make a good atmosphere!
