Shots [2]-[0] Essex Chavs

First half was pretty much average with Chelmsford matching us for much of it but the second half I thought we totally dominated and that's the best ive seen us play since Stevenage (didn't go to Oxford). Player ratings below:

Bull - 8: Another string of fine saves when the score was 0-0 and 1-0

Smith - 7: Best he has played for a while, reasonably solid and won most his battles

Day - 7: Pretty solid in the air but still seems to just hoof the ball clear rather than pass

Newman - 8: Excellent in the air for a short fella, great passing ability and was always commited

Barnard - 8: Cool and calm for the penalty, usual solid self, very rarely beaten down the left

Soares - 7: Few good speedy runs, never gave up, more to come hopefully

Lee - 8: Back to his best with his passing in the middle of the park

Molesley - 8: Gave 100% all game and wouldnt stop running, still doesnt look 100% fit to me

Williams - 8: Back to his best? Nearly! Great performance

Gayle - 7: Another quiet ish game but held the ball up well and won his battles up top

John Grant - 7: Took his goal well, neat touches up front and getting more confident

Joel Grant - 6: Not enough time to affect the game

Harding - 6: Not enough time to affect the game

My man of the match: Ricky Newman - excellent performance at centre half for a small fella, won all his battles, always gives 100% and plays better there than in midfield!

TB and MK to stay for now!!!!!
