STOP MUSIC WHEN WE SCORE

Hi all.

You may have seen that I started a thread on shotsweb showing my opposition to the tastless american trashy music that they play at the rec when we score.

I am sure you will agree that the atmosphere that the EB generates at the Rec is the best in the league. We do not need crappy music. (I stood in the north stand on Saturday with my 84 year old granddad and it was really embarassing hearing the music take over from the great organic soudn of the Eastbank)

It doesn't get the crowd going at all. All it achieves is people clap in tandem...The drum and our chanting do that far better and sound so much better!

I think by playing music, it is really a kick in the teeth for us Eastbankers.

The atmposhere at the Rec is awesome and is made worse by that crappy tune that is played over the tannoy.

EASTBANK AGAINST MUSIC WHEN WE SCORE.

Good stuff Martin!

Eastbankers Unite!

It really has no place at the Re- which is a real football ground... not a cheap plastic lego ground like Reading. Lets do something about this and stop the music.

The Eastbank Atmpsohere is unique.

Well said Bear! I totally agree with your sentiments. It completely ruins the attmosphere of the goal celebrations in the East bank and just drowns out the great noise that we make.
I'd love to know who came up with that idea. I understand why they do it at grounds that produce little noise but why do it at a ground that has the best attmosphere in the Conference??confused

Its crazy and really wound me up! I hope whoever is responsible takes note of the fans feelings on this matter and we never hear that cheesy music being played again! I don't understand why the club dosn't consult the fans before bringing in these ridiculous ideas. I thought the club wanted to improve communication between club and fans?
Not impressed and will be chanting "stick that F in music up your arse! Tannoy!!" at the Crawley game. furious

i must b honest it does ruin it a bit coz we normaly do the aldershot chant straight after we score but on the other hand with that song that does get played the whole stadium does it and it does make a fukin noise 2bh but i dunno its like 50-50 for me so i wouldnt mind either way

I'll convince you Dave, I'd rather hear the eastbank chanting after we score than hearing the whole ground clapping along to some naff song..... I find it insulting to the effort we put in to have our celebrations drowned out by music.

Get shot of that rubbish and let the fans make the noise, perhaps the club should consult the players.... I bet they'd rather hear their fans chanting their names and going wild than have that crappy music played like it's a bloody carnival or something.

Dave- I agree we always do the alderhshot chant with the drum and it sounds really good.

By the way- its a myth that the whole stadium does the song. I stood in the northstand and no one does.. People clap at the same time, but they do this without the music! The only extra noise (other than the Eastbank) is through the speakers! The atmspohere is way better in the staduim without the music i.e when we get a corner its a lot louder!)

Anyway, see shotsweb... Matt O'Leary has quite sensibly agreed to stop playing the drivel when we score.... Let the Eastbank orchestrate the atmosphere!!!

Up the super shots!
