Well, I've spoken to him, showed him it, and he said he'd love to have it. But he lives in Windsor, and has obviously moved to Brighton. So what we'll do, is send it to Brighton, in the post, and he'll get it from the club.
Here's the little conversation I had with him, anyway:
"
Jonny,
First of all, thanks for your service at Aldershot. What a player. You'll be missed at The Rec, and I'm sure Brighton will be a fantastic move. All the best.
The RBA made a banner for you before we knew you were leaving, which was going to be used at the Cambridge game. But since you've gone, it'd look pretty stupid using it now. So, as a kind gesture, we thought we would give it to you. But we're not sure how.
Is there any chance you could e-mail me at benblundellatfc@hotmail.com, with an address I could send it to? It's a belter, I'm sure you'd agree:
Hey mate, wow! Thanks for the kind gesture. i really appreciate it. I'm gutted to be leaving, but the club and I both couldn't turn the offer down, so it just had to happen that way I guess. Who knows, maybe I'll be back again one day? I'd love to have tha banner if that's ok? Let me know how to go about it.. Thanks mate Jonny
Yes mate, of course you can have it. Like I said, we were going to use it along with a number of other flags we've made, but since you've left, we thought it'd be only right to give it to you.
What I'll do is whack it in the post, to the club, and I'm sure they'll sort you out with it. Let the secretaries or whoever know about it, and it should be in the post within a few days.
