Without meaning to go over old ground, this subject has been bothering me for a while now and I just wanna get it off my chest in case I don't make the meeting tomorrow.
I remember, particularly in the Crawley thread, people saying about how we shouldn't be 'ultras' but go back to being the '12th man' when, in fact, the two are pretty much the same. It seems that people were getting pi$$ed off with people wanting this to be an ultras group, and I heard people saying on the coach on Saturday that it's people wanting this to be an ultras group, as opposed to what is was before, that's caused all the lads to leave to join ACY, even though this already was pretty much an ultras group anyway.
From Wikipedia... The four core points of the ultra mentality are: Never stop singing or chanting during a match, no matter what the result. Never sit down during a match. Attend as many games as possible (home and away), regardless of cost or distance. Loyalty to the stand in which the group is located. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultras
So how much of that is different to what the RBA were doing in the first place?
http://www.ultrasuk.co.uk <- Another handy link if people want to know more about the ultras scene in the UK, which is different to on the continent!
So is this a big fuss over nothing, or am I missing something here?
I think it was over what "mentaility" people have, for example, being against modern football, Setanta, and whatever else. To be honest, I couldn't care less about mentality. As long as I enjoy myself at football and get behind my team, I don't care about being an ultra. If can fit in that bracket, whatever. All I'm bothered about at the moment is getting behind my team and enjoying myself at football.
