Matt Foot gets a text from a relative every Saturday, with a football trivia question. He called me this week asking for help, so I thought I'd post it on here.
"Who is the only player to have scored a hat-trick twice, and lost on both occasions?"
A clue was that he is no longer in the Premiership, so either he is in the lower leagues, or is retired.
Matt, did you find out in the end? Don't tell us yet, let's have some fun with it.
So, I'll get the ball rolling. I genuinely don't know the answer, and I'm not sure if Matt does yet, either.
Dennis Law once scored six in a game and ended up on the losing side, but this says lost on both occasions. Game was abandoned and they lost the replayed game. Doesn't say whether it was actually in the Premier League or not If it was a premier league player, my guess would be Kevin Campbell or Les Ferdinand
