Great Comeback today....

But in the stands we were fecking embaressing.

At 3-0 the ground was practically silent, Bury had about a tenth of the fans we did, yet absolutely cr@pped on us! - I know it's only natural that we wont be as loud when we aren't winning, but the whole point and set-up of the RBA is to get behind the team winning, losing or drawing, is it not?

At half time I went and stood closer to the fence and it was quite clearly evident that there was no noise whatsoever, infact I heard someone (an RBA member) say "Why are you singing so much, we are 3-0 down FFS" Which was rather embaressing.

No point in dropping names, although those of you who only come to sing when we score are silly, IMO, at 3-0 down we should be singing just as loud, if not LOUDER! to get behind the team.

Yeah yeah it was great when we came back, but fact is for the first 70 minutes we were embaressing.

"Wheres your famous RBA" was a fitting song, IMO.

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL.

I have to totally disagree with you Yateley!  At 3-0 down I was amazed at how much singing there still was.  I have to stand at the back - to keep an eye on my son, so slightly removed from the throng in the middle - and I feel the EB should take a bow today
There are not many grounds - probably none in L2 that would have created that much support at 3-0 down
Totally disagree mate
in fact all you seem to want to do these days is criticise - very little of it constructively (see away travel section)

Not quite, I generally thought at 3-0, I looked over, and there was just nothing coming from the RBA 'Section' - just a general lack of motivation from what I saw.

And constant critisiscm, how?!?! - Without wanting to spark an argument, I've already made my views in that section about how some things that could be improved, and Alex assured me it would be taken into consideration.

Your probably right about us being better then most other league two grounds in that position today, but from RBA, deffinetly quite embaressing, IMO.

I agree with Tony on this one.

Obviously in an ideal world the whole EB would be rocking for 90 minutes no matter what the score, but it's only natural that we were quieter at 0-3 - same way as the Bury fans went quiet at 3-3.

Ok, we weren't deafening for the first 70 minutes, but we were louder than most fans would have been in that situation.

Although I agree about the person who said "why are you so happy about us being 3-0 down?" when I was jumping around singing "come on the Shots" furious The way I saw it, we were on our way to a hiding and being miserable and having a go at the team isn't gonna change anything so you might aswell keep singing to try and lift them!

Shame people have to be negative after a game like that. We were utter dump for 70 minutes and came back from 0-3 against a the team who are top of the league biggrin I honestly can't remember the last time (if ever!) I celebrated like that at The Rec! biggrin

VIVA ROB ELVINS! smile

Agree with wob tbh.
No point in moaning, just get on with singing and cheering on the team we all love ? :D

likie you say - not much point in getting into an argument on here - I agree that it could have been louder - but i don't think it was as bad as you make out (but it is all subjective)

in terms of crticism (I didn't say constant)
look at Macclesfield thread
''deary me this section needs sorting''
Not exactly constructive and given the amount of work that some people put into the organisation of away travel a little disrespectful - given that the last few weeks are the first time we have had this confusion on away travel
we have a meeting a week tomorrow when hopefully we can get it all sorted - and you are welcome to attend so that you can put your views across (and possibly volunteer to run the away travel for the RBA?)

your other post re Notts County was at least more constructive and so more likely to be taken on board

im gonna make this short and sweet....

i thought the atmos today was the dogs bollocks.

90% of teams that are 3-0 down would never sing as loud as we did. from where i was standing in the RBA section the atmosphere was fantastic and the amount of singing, however many of us did sing paid off!

I agree, probably out of order, it just frustrates me seeing 30 people a week asking what time its leaving, where, when, how much, if theres a coach running ect.

Yep.

The timing of their goals didn't help either; At 0-1 we were still loud, but then they got a 2nd five minutes later which deflated us a bit. Then we were loud at the start of the second half then they scored a third really early on which looked like it killed the game off!

The drum was going pretty constantly today IIRC. And a Bury supporting mate of mine said after the game [northern accent]"3-0 down and you all sing like that? No wonder you've got such a good home recored"[/northern accent] So we couldn't have been that bad!

Ermm, he also said Wheres this home support you've been going on about, IIRC? weirdface

Oh well, I've had my say on this thread, as I said I was standing a fair bit away from the RBA section, so perhaps misunderstood some of it...

Hmm, he did didn't he. And on the way back to the station he commented on how good it would be to have an atmosphere like that every week!

Great game, great atmosphere! Good to hear the drums back and on top form as normal. I think we all did our jobs as the 12th man today and helped earn a great point. smile

A quote from a Bur-eh fan on The Football Forum;

"They made for a fantastic atmosphere in the ground, your fans where a credit today, never shut up even at 3-0 down"

i thought the atmosphere was superb saturday boys 3 0 down and still singing well done all.
when we were losing 3 0 i overheard these two blokes in front of me saying they had come all the way from london to watch this sh%t at which in my large tones started singing were gonna win 4 3 the rest is history and them 2 men will definitely be back for the brentford game cos they like us were jumping about like big kids in the playground hugging each other in exultation.

For example did anyone watch the hammers match on sunday didn't start singing till they had scored what a disgrace, no wonder they lost!

As an experiment i think if you boys moved to the right ie more centrally you would have the eastbank surrounded excuse the pun and more people would join in,nowdays with our larger crowds and the eastbank extention you seem to be congregated in the corner, this is only an idea boys and girls i think your all marvellous! also i believe it would work.
When we get rocking ive seen 90 % singing and clapping ie at 3 3. Also the northbank were up for it very loud saturday, well done all .

i think you are right there if we all stood more centrel and instead of right behind the goal you wuold get more singing and maybe the atmespher would spread a little not just the eastbank but some of the north bank aswellsmilesmilesmile

we've got to remember there's loads of new fans coming to the games now, for instance the bloke i brought along it was his first shots game for twenty years lol, he is a tele liverpool fan and didnt realise how much entertainment he has been missing all these years ,my point is he was a bit embarrassed at first when the drums started banging, and when we started singing he just looked at me and said " i dont know any of the words " i said just fecking clap then and he did and gradually got into the easy anthems like Red army,Aldershot aldershot ,come on you reds etc, thats another little clue to make the atmosphere even better! Keep it a little more simpler so the newbies as we all were at one time join in wink
