Boro are pleased to announce they will be hosting a pre-season friendly clash with neighbours Aldershot Town on Wednesday 15th July.
Gary Waddocks Shots enjoyed a respectable first season back in the Football League, finishing 15th in Coca-Cola League Two, and will provide a stiff test of Boro's credentials ahead of the new campaign.
The game, held at Cherrywood Road, will kick-off at 7.45pm
So Lets get loads of people to go to cherrywood road and show the "PRE" how to support thier team and vocally get behid them would be good and we wont get many chances of a local derby any more.
As I didn't have a full day free when we played lincoln I went to watch Farnborough in their playoff final. Since we were last there the ground has changed a lot and is now actually quite a smart looking ground. Although I expect when they build thier new all seated PRE it will look a lot like Woking's ground (one big stand out of proportion to the rest of the ground).
Their 'away end' now does now have some cover (towards the back) and now is more like a terrace ie. its better than last time we were there, a few crumling steps with grass growing out!
Being a friendly I doubt there will be segregation, which is good! And they have a new smart bar within the ground now! (Actually I dont know if that was there before).
There were quite a few anti aldershot chants. (bless them) and anti aldersh!t (whoever they are) ! So it should be a good laugh!
But no drum though, despite their ground having improved, its still nonleague tinpot, so a drum would also sound tinpot.
