For all those who were at the game today, read and take note. For those who weren't, take note as well, and make sure you're not part of this for the next game.
Apologies for any use of colourful language, I am not in the best of moods.
Today's support was a **** disgrace. I can name about 6 people who put in what I would call an acceptable amount of effort today when it came to the atmosphere. The East Bank today was simply not **** good enough, and every single person at the game today should be ashamed of themselves.
A new manager, a new era for the club, and we show ourselves up like that? I thought Aldershot Town Football Club was proud to say that they had some of the best fans in the country. Not a **** chance from today's showing. 90 minutes of noise? Don't make me laugh. Pathetic.
And if anyone is reading this who happens to stand in the top left corner of the East Bank, do me a favour. Bin off the **** away fans, and START GETTING BEHIND YOUR OWN **** TEAM. I don't hate Northerners, and couldn't give a **** if they are employed or not. Get behind Aldershot Town, and stop singing **** songs to attempt to belittle the away fans. What happens when you call them **** when you're 2-1 up? They go and score twice, like they did today.
EVERYONE reading this needs to take a long hard look at themselves, because today was a **** disgrace.
tbh i was exspecting us to make more noise than we did and at points they were outsinging us and i agree the top left **** me off aswell with their **** songs
Shame the East Bank is attracting those who like the atmosphere, but aren't willing to help it.
We're here to support our side nick, we want as much help as possible. Well worth pointing out that today's "effort" not good enough. All too often people claim we have the best support - back it up and prove it.
Ben you are in danger of disappearing up your own arse! what a ridiculous post... get a grip man!
Get a grip? Were you at the same game as me today?
I've had a bit to calm down since getting back from the game, but today's atmosphere was still disgraceful. Today was no way to welcome a new manager, with such a poor crowd.
Some people need to wake up and start getting behind the team for 90 minutes, rather than singing when we're just ahead. The team needs us for the entire game, and it doesn't help them as much as it doesn't help us.
One scenario from today, I won't name names:
Fan 1 - Come on, SING UP!
Fan 2 - **** off you prick...
Not good enough. An attempt by a younger fan, put down by someone who should know better, simply for trying to encourage others to sing? Again, pathetic, and a disgrace to the club.
People should be singing for 90 minutes, ESPECIALLY in such a time as we are in now.
Anyone who thinks we've got great support just watch this from the besiktas fans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtLxpMyh13g
Now some may argue that we have the best fans in league 2, and rightly so, I've certainly not seen any better. But thats because in my opinion the other teams support in absolutely pathetic.
As a teacher at school reminded me constantly, "Don't judge yourself based on other people". So maybe we do have the best support, but even if we do, at the moment it is nothing to be proud of.
I'll take being up my own arse, if that makes for a better atmosphere.
No worries Nick, I'm sure you won't have a problem being a fantastic supporter by your own standards, but not by mine.
Oh, and by the way, I wasn't slating just RBA members, I was slating everyone, hence the thread title. Being a member of the Red Blue Army has nothing to do with it.
Something taken from the RBA website, that was written nearly 5 years ago and untouched since then.
The Red Blue Army will be similar to the supporters club but will be doing more to our efforts as the '12th Man' of the team. Our support for the club has been second to none over recent years, and with like minded fans working together, we can make it bigger and better! You might be wondering how can we improve our efforts?
The sight of flags, banners, scarves, etc, gets the players motivated and the more we can do that, hopefully, the better they play.
Seems like we've fallen away from the number one objective of why the RBA was put into place. When it comes to the next 2 games, we need to get back to what matters most, rather than standing in silence hoping for others to make the difference.

It is just my opinion, but I think your post is more likely to be counter-productive Ben. Some people respond well to the ''stick'' method of motivation, but the overwhelming majority need to be encouraged, praised and clearly led in a certain direction. I also don't entirely agree with your points. Yes the support could have been stronger and more passionate (what we really needed at such a pivotal moment in our season) but it was still a lot better than it is for a number of home games in the season. It was also good enough to draw praise from Bury fans on their forum - not that this is our benchmark - more to point out that I really don't think it was as bad as you think it was (whilst agreeing it could have been a lot better)
The problem was the penalty miss - it knocked the stuffing out of both the players and the fans. Therefore, it became a bit of a self fullfilling prophecy - we didn't back them - they played gradually worse and worse for the rest of 1st half and first part of 2nd half - so we became gradually quieter and quieter - until the 2nd goal - and then certain parts of the EB did their usual (whilst i am on this subject can we cut out this ''you might as well go home'' chant unless we are 4-0 up with only injury time to play!
Thik it through though - what is more likely to get people singing more passionately next time? being told they were a pile of **** and just not up to the grade or being told that Bury were impressed with our noise - but we still feel we can do even better, and there is still room for significant improvement etc etc?
At least you have provoked some thought on the subject - I hope that you and Nick will be able to have a level headed discussion together about your respective views!!
the atmisphere saturday was strained all over the ground ...over the last 8 weeks the club has lost three good men ....JOHN MCGINTY...GARY WADDOCK.....MARTIN KUHL. all three men got are beloved team to were thay are now. iv always been out spoken about things and ive been in truble becouse of my mouth at games . but this time ben is right we all gave a bad show this time we let the bury fans out sing us . lets get the unity back lets make the east bank rock like we have don befor. lets not just live in the wake off these last 10 weeks lets show the football world that aldershot town football club has got the best fans and got the best buntch of lads playing for them .......the managers come and go but aldershot fans stand stedfast always . REDARMY REDARMY REDARMY
i sing me heart out cos i dont give a f&CK, i have noticed the atmosphere has become quite muted but that is understandable with whats been happening lately as keith stated " jmg passing away waddock and kuhly" possible rumours about going into admin so its understandable different people react in different ways. Now funny enough after the game in a pub yonder we (me and my shadow) discussed the above and came to the conclusion that the reason why its so quiet at the mo is
Wheres fuc*&n Elvis and that legendary snare drum !!!

For someone who has known Scooterboy (Nick) for over 10 years i can agree with the points he has made. Ben i think the post you made obviously with the best intentions was a bit over the top and maybe in a few days you will agree you have to understand that not all the supporters are the same as you. I feel im as passionate as any other supporter and i will sing my heart out but other times i like to be quiet and watch the game.....we are all supporters of the same club we all have the passion of supporting the shots just respect that some people wish to do this in a different way that you.
I understand the purpose of the RBA and each member brings something different you should be commended for what you do Ben. People like Scooterboy who goes to every game home and away should also be commended just dont judge people for choosing to sing or not to sing and more importantly don't judge people on where he sits. I also echo Bagshots comment that you both have a level headed conversation.
I did'nt know to do this prively with Ben, or let people know my veiw, but as i was there as a supporter of Aldershot Town, then his remarks include me, so here goes. First, i may be to blame here slightly, taking Ben to his first game perhaps too early, and as we have all done, got the deep deep passion for our club. But this is no excuse for his outburst, not only at me, Nick, other supporters, and members of the R.B.A. I am so proud that my boys have so much passion for the club, but you simply cannot, and i repeat, cannot go slagging people off just because things are not happening how you wan't them to go. I known how he felt on saturday. We all hate losing, and are not quite use to it yet, and don't want to get use to it. The drive home on saturday was like someone had died, and i felt sick an annoyed. All that aside ben, you have to put your brain ingadged before you open you mouth. It is not fair to have a go at people like you did, and i include myself in that, as i did'nt sing much either. This is a veiw from me as a supporter, and more than that, your dad. What you do is fantastic. Keep making the flags, they are great, put them up with pride, bang your drum, and sing you heart out for the lads, and support them all your life, don't ever stop that, but please step back and have a good look at yourself. Just lately, you have made a couple of moves that have not been good for yourself and the good of the R.B.A. I'll say no more because you know what i mean. One of them could of put your position in a very silly position. Now you don't have to take my advise, you are big enough to do that yourself, but i think you owe all the above people, an appollogy. It needs to be big and public. In the future, just think about what you do for the club, do it to the best of your abillity, and let everybody else do what they want, but hold you head up high and do the very best that you can do, and thats all you can do. I hope people don't take offense to this, and if so, then i'm sorry, but i feel that i had to say my peice. Thank you all, UP THE SHOTS, Paul Blundell.
why is it up to ben to tell us to make more noise? surely, you can choose whether to sing or not at games and if you are paying £15 to watch the shots, does that mean its compulsory to sing? you do not have the authority to tell us what to do ben, if people want to make some noise they can, if not thats fine too.

Just to stick up for Ben here, who makes all the noise with the tom tom drum? This obviously goes with the singing. If people don't sing, then whats the point of the drums? So whats the point Ben bringing the drum, and if he does not bring it, then people moan, and trust me, i have witnessed this myself. No drum, no singing, hence no atmosphere, every body moans about no atmosphere, here we go again. I understand the way he puts things sometimes does not come out quite right, but he is only trying to get people roused up and keep the noise going. Everybody has their own veiw on this, but he is just trying his best, but sometimes does not come over in the correct manner. Now i just wish everybody would look at some remarks in a wider point of veiw, and most of all, stop arguing amongst ourselves and get behind the team.
I sympathise with Ben as I know how passionate he is for the club. He only had a go at people cos he cares so much for the club and wants us to do well. He knows how much good support can help the team and prides himself on helping create that atmosphere. Sats atmosphere was prob above average in terms of noise but I think we had all talked it up too much on how loud we were gonna be to support the caretaker manager. When it came round to it, IMO it didn't quite live up to expectations. I think some people have been too sensitive over this though. I mean so what if Ben had a rant. Its his opinion and he's entitled to it. If you don't agree then ignore it but if like me you do, then make sure you sing louder at the next home game.
P.s. I know not everyone sings and thats fine but you can at least clap along
