disgrace

at he game tonight was standing int he eastbank as i do everygame and i was ashame to be a member of the rba this is because the defence were rubbish and people were slated henderson when the goals were mostly the defences fault. the effect was cear on henderson as his head dropped dramatically during the half and he walked off on his own facing the floor. As supporters we should be suuporting all 11 players thayt play because the manager put them there not themselve so matter who the fans favourites are there all playingt to succeed with Aldershot and this wont happen when people are slagging him off all the time.

Not sure why that makes you "ashamed to be a member of the rba" though...

The comment made by Kevin dillon was that he would not bring in a championship goalkeeper on loan and not play him, yet on saturday after the game he also said that the keeper had the best game yet for us especially as it was his first season in league football. He clearly isn't championship material so why should Ruiz be pushed to one side. It didn't happen when Masters was here so why now. What do you want to do, just curl up and watch our team die, cause i don't, it bloody hurts like hell when we get turned over like that, and i'm sorry but i'm to passionate about my club not to critisize. WTF is going on mr Dillon and get it sorted. I don't mind hoof and chase if it works like it did for wimbledon many years ago, but its not how Aldershot play and its NOT working. May i add that its not Hendersons fault, its the way Dillon has dropped Ruiz and thrown Henderson in at the deep end. It is Dillon that has destroyed both of their confidence, now its going to be hard to repair that. I feel sorry for both of them. The calls for Ruiz were aimed at Dillon, unfortunatley poor Henderson was nearest and he got the brunt of peoples frustration, but i'm sorry, our manager has got to stand up and admit he's made a mistake, and try and put it right. At the end of the day, we will all be back next week and maybe the people who really don''t support the club and who it affects most, won't come. This is a really sad affair, and perhaps the players felt so gutted, it will be put right on saturday and we can get back to normallity.

Got to agree with Webby - the reason that I joined the RBA was because of the SUPPORT that it used to put behind the team and if that was not the case last night, then it saddens me (I was stood in the North Bank) so can't say who it was signing for Ruiz, but certainly heard it and the booing.

The RBA used to be about getting behind the team for the entire 90 minutes - and the way of "voicing" concerns was to say/do nothing - the silence more than demonstrated the fans disapproval of any crap that was being dished up on the pitch.

Last seasons 5-1 defeat against Chesterfield was a great example of the RBA giving it 100% even when events on the pitch were nothing more than a lost cause and made the match what it was (from a supporters view!)

I don't feel that "we" are the 12th man any longer and it's sad because as "flat" and as poor as yesterdays game was, there was a little bit of an atmosphere created at the start of the match and it reminded me of those days that we were.

I fully agree that people should moan/voice their opinions - as they do on Shotsweb, but it was alway nice to know that there were a bunch of supporters who were joined by un-conditional support and a love of the club, which isn't obvious these days.

I usually get a couple of friends along to watch the Shots each season and they always comment on what a great bunch of supporters we have (they're Chelsea fans) was really looking forwards to getting them along to the Tour of Duty - but with the crappy atmospheres at the moment, they may as well stick to going along to Swindon for the odd match!

I really hope there is a massive change before Cheltenham (away) as that was (is) still another one they were going to come too.

(edit) And if I spot anymore spelling mistakes (than the four already - they can stay there!)

Swindonshot has summed it up perfectly. People are completely entitled to their opinions, I have my own and there are plenty of decisions by Mr Dillon that I disagree with. However, we are not helping Dillon at all at present. Let's not forget, Dillon plays a starting 12, the 12th man, despite some early season decent form, has been rubbish recently.

I thought the RBA always got behind the team, well, apart from a few, we're not atm.

It was a stupid decision to drop Ruiz. However chanting his name during the game did us no favours at all. Especially for the poor lad in goal who was having a poor game.
I didn't join in with that and told a few people around me what I thought of it.
I do though understand why us fans are angry at Dillon for dropping Ruiz as I'm one of them as well!

To have chanted his name after the game once Henderson had left the pitch would have been a better way of letting our feelings known to the manager.
As it is, the message seems to have got across and Dillon appears to have seen sense. Just a shame we had to shatter the confidence of the Bristol keeper in the process. Thats not the way Shots fans usually do things.

I think the RBA needs to take a lead in getting behind the team and management in future games. Weather you like Dillon or not (and I for 1 don't) we need to put that to one side and get behind the club. Otherwise our season really is over.

ps. Bournmouth was only a few games ago and just remember how good the atmosphere was that we created. That must be our marker but it won't happen again this season if everyone remains negative.
The players will only improve with our backing.

Come on the Shots!

I was chanting for Ruiz on Saturday when I went to the game but realised that this would dent Henderson's confidence and stopped. I wasn't chanting to Henderson but to join in in the vain hope that Dillon would think about playing Ruiz. Bloody stubborn northern get! (No offence to any northerners!)

Ruiz was dropped unfairly in my opinion, his shot stopping and positioning is much better than Henderson's in my opinion. I believe Ruiz is the better keeper of the two.

Dillon seems to be somebody who will shirk all responsibility and point the blame at everyone except himself. Waddock occasionally put his hands up and would say "it was my fault, I messed up tactically" but Dillon seems to spout out every excuse under the sun.

Am I right in thinking this is Dillon's first managerial job? I really wish we had brought in a manager with previous managerial experience-what about that guy whose doing well at AFC Wimbledon? Terry Brown?!?!

I can't imagine that being all of the RBA.  True, we all like to have a moan but at 90% of the matches I have been to over the last few years since the RBA were formed we would normally start singing straight after conceding.  We are the 12th man and should get behind the team instead of moaning!

sorry to take over thread but eastbank boy you have a pm on shotsweb
and i disagree with some points of view on here,
ruiz should have never been dropped from the start i for one was worried when bully left has i didnt think ruiz could take the pressure but believe me he has and i feel if you drop your number 1 keeper for not doing anything wrong then their is a problem so all we were doing was getting behind our number 1 and it wasnt a dig at henderson whatsoever and we have to stand by our players.

Whether the decision was right or wrong, and most will agree Ruiz should never have been dropped, the fact remains - he was.

Yes, Henderson made some right bloody clangers, but the RBA used to be all about "supporting" the team and not singling out players who have been dropped.

A fella with his "head down" isn't going to be able to pick himself up again when supporters are singing for him to be dropped and if that isn't a "dig" at him (intentional or not), then I don't know what is.
