rba flags and banners

its seems to me that a lot of rba banners and flags are not being displayed much this season. at the last game  no rba surfer or flags, does this mean the supras are taking over the east bank ?. i know some of the supras used to be rba members so im sure the rba and supras can work together.

this is my own opinion as i see it, i may be wrong.

sorry put this in wrong thread should have been the rba section,o the joys of getting oldbiggrin

i think you've got a fair comment there mate. They all seem to be about the supras (no offence to you boys.. you do a smashing job with the display)

I'm not trying to start an argument here so I apologise if I offend anyone, but it's been a whole season and noone has stepped up to the challenge to turn up early for games and actually put them up. Fatboy tried but found it a struggle to do everything on his own, (turn up early for games, take a bag full to away games and get in early to put them up, organise, make and set up displays) after repeatedly posting that help would be appreciated but unfortunately with no takers or no replies. The end of the season is a bit late to realise that something has to be done. Hopefully next season we will see more of you inside the ground early help putting up some RBA banners or even banners of your own. The Eastbank welcomes all flags and colour.

Start getting your own banners made then and sort them out. We're VERY sorry for making our own, getting ourselves sorted, bringing as much colour to all the grounds. Started slowly admittedly, but now we have a decent armoury and still more to come.

There are visions.

There's nothing stopping you from bringing your own banners. We own nothing and are taking nothing over. We'll give a more active approach and we won't stop either.

There's nearly 100 "members" paid up, it was left to just ONE. Why should he carry on bothering when it was meant to be a GROUP effort. The RBA lost its focus, and drive - colour and noise. We've had only about 8 of us involved in this from the start. Look what we've managed to pull off this season. Even if there was only 20 committed people getting displays done, we could do a HECK of a lot better - trust me. Some of the ideas we've got at the minute for use next season, and in the future require that many people. We realise people work and what not so can't do things during the day, most of what we do happens late at night, we stay up until 3am some Saturday mornings just to get things finished. I know you're not having a go at our effort and what happens, but if there was more people willing to help the colour and displays could be even better. I hope people find this as an encouragement to get involved rather than a moan.

Next season, we'll be doing bigger, better things. Like above said, I even put a message on here before the play off 1st leg, asking if anyone wanted to get involved and help pull that display off. No replies, no messages, no reaction.

Fatboy, posted in the members section around christmas time I think asking if anyone wanted to help get the displays done for the RBA, he had ZERO (0) replies.

Some of the banners will no longer fit on the barriers because they had to be cut this season.

I agree with the above two posts.

Me and FATBOY did try this season, at the start and at the beginning. Nothing was happening, I took my ideas elsewhere, FATBOY tried setting up Tifo, how many responded? None. Let's not moan about it aye when people do nothing to rectify the situation.

Been plenty of opportunities this season but nothing has happened.

Feel free to make and put up your own banners next season, we'll carry on doing our job.

Imo i dont think it matters weather the banners have supras or rba on them as they are all linked to the shots. Im just glad they get displayed and look so good on tv. Well done to all those that put the hard work in on the displays and bring so much colour to the terraces. Fair play to you.
Ps. Hope i dont sound like im bum licking! Lol

im not saying it wrong because the displays you put on with about 5,6 or how ever many of you there are. The displays you put on are fantsatic and no other team could take that away from us. On the tv home and away to rotherham we heard you loud and clear, and the displays where good both home and away. Rotherham wernt to be heard or seen, its unfortunate that the players didnt turn up! You boys do a great job.

1. Things only get done when you have one (or more) people prepared to actually put the effort in (and it is a lot of effort)

2. The Supras formed due partly to their frustration that the RBA was not doing enough in this area - so it is not even a one season issue - this has been an issue since Flagboy hung up his needle!

3. IMHO the Supras and the RBA actually dovetail beautifully and work very well together.  We have provided the travel and some of the 'non-football' social activities, the Supras provide the fantastic displays - and we all contribute to the noise.

4. The Supras have great momentum and some of the displays towards the end of the season were awesome.  I hope that 2010/11 season will see this continue.  I am personally happy to contribute money to help make this happen and I think they have created sufficient goodwill that they could easily organise a couple of bucket collections at home games next season - and people would be happy to throw money in.

5. I hope the Supras continue to grow from strength to strength and I hope the RBA does the same.
Well done to all of you!

So am i right in saying that all of the banners and stuff have to be put up before EVERY game, and they dont stay there? I thought they were a permanent fixture?

If putting them up every game IS the case, then firstly you do a great job, and secondly, if more help IS needed, then people should help.

They get put up and taken down every week.

Mainly away games we'll only take group banner (PS09) and one or two main banners.

It'd be good if people came up with more designs or even made their own. I've got a bit of time on my hands at the minute between making the displays for various games and could possibly give a couple a go for a small price. Don't bother going to barmyflags or any of those over priced places - granted, good quality, but over priced. Much better having the satisfaction of having made it yourself.
