In memory of Jamie

Most of you may know by now of the sudden and unexpected death of Jamie Mackay on Friday. A fellow 'Eastbanker' and player in our supporters team, he'll be greatly missed by a number of us.

A true Aldershot fan who was always seen to sing his heart out at home games as well as the away games he was able to get to. I, and all who knew him would agree that he was 'top bloke' who always took time out to chat to other supporters on match days.

Next Saturday (26th November), we have decided to make it a day to remember him and pay our respects to a close friend. There will be a supporters game taking place next Saturday morning on Bourley Road, with 2 teams formed out of RBA members and close friends. Kick-off time and details are tbc. We will also be contacting the club asap to organise a minutes silence at the beginning of our home match vs Forest Green Rovers, allowing all to have the chance to pay there respects to Jamie. A banner will also be made, to be held up during the 1 minutes silence, as well as a permanent banner that will bare his name and be taken on the road with us to every away game.

I on behalf of the RBA, would like to say our thoughts are with Jamie's family during this difficult time, especially Jamie's father Steve; I hope to see you back on the Eastbank soon mate.

Well said Alex, was really shocked when we got told on the coach, well done everyone for raising the money for the flowers. Well done Baz for the speach you could tell it came from your heart, Pugs for sorting out the supporters game, Shearer for the card and Alex for the banners and flags.

Jamie was  a smashing lad, always very welcoming towards everyone on the Eastbank, he would always say hi and ask how things were going. He will very much be missed.

Last i would like to send my best wishes out to Steve and the rest of his family during this very sad time.

RIP Jamie - you will be missed very much. SHOTS FOR EVER!!!

My personal memories of jamie are those of a warm, kind and gentle person. I, like most people only know Jamie through football and and to dedicate a football match in his honour is a truly fitting tribute to a young person who was so commited the great game and to a great team Aldershot Town. I feel priviliged to have known Jamie as he was one of the "good guys", whether it be playing in a supporters match or singing as loud as everyone else in the Eastbank.

I last spoke to Jamie on wednesday at the reserves match, and he like most people was happily awaiting the return of the ledgend that is Roscoe D'sane, and its a shame that Jamie will not be with us to see his full return. The last thing I said to him was, " See you Saturday mate". And it came as a real shock when I was told on saturday morning.

My thoughts are with Steve, Wayne, his GF and the rest of his family over this difficult period for them.

My last words are for Jamie, From one Aldershot fan to another you were a true mate. We'll keep the Red Flag flying high for you mate.
