He should of been given a longer time to prove himself and there is more to life for a striker than scoring goals! Look at Kev Davies of Bolton, he is knackered at the end because of his workrate more than anything. Aaron never gave up, ran his socks off and had the highest leap in the whole team when he was playing. His workrate was enough to earn another contract with me.
You obviously won't make a very good manager then. Yes his workrate was EXCELLENT but he just wasn't the finished player he is now. He's scoring goals just as she should be doing. He was given a whole season to prove himself
You wouldn't make a good manager if you would carry on playing a striker that doesn't score goals - As has already been said a STRIKER's job is to SCORE, he couldn't do that at Aldershot but he has now seemingly found the back of the net for Grays and hopefully he'll be able to continue to improve at P'borough
Is that the only way you can finish a conversation if you know you are wrong?
I competely agree with Martin on this. A strikers job is to SCORE GOALS. If you're not scoring, then what's the point? A Kevin Nolan, or Aaron Mclean in this circumstance, sets up players, and scores goals every so often. An Alan Shearer or, in this circumstance, Giuliano Grazioli, sets up goals AND SCORES THEM. There is a HUGE difference.
Why have a player that sets up goals all the time, when you can have someone who sets them up AND scores them at the same time?
It's pretty simple really. If only we had an UP AND COMING MANAGER TO GUIDE US? To be honest, I think I'd be a better manager than you, and I've been watching the Shots for about 12 years now!
Good luck Aaron......always exciting to watch with his pace.....think he'll do well in the league......personally I was sad to see him go when he left us...weather he scored enough goals or not!
