HAHAHAHAHA! I laugh at you lot, saying you "support" a premiership team. The nearest premiership team is Reading, and who wants to support them?

As for being a Manchester United supporter (or fan, as I prefer to call you), I pity you. Why would you support a team that is 300 miles away? When was the last time you went to watch them at Old Trafford? Call yourself a supporter?

Same with Chelsea. What's the point? You've probably not been to watch them very often, so why support them? Waste of time, in my opinion!

I'm Aldershot through and through, and I wouldn't want to change that! Premiership teams, waste of time for me.....

Maybe it's nice to support a team of a higher standard such as man united, arsenal and .......................... liverpool It's up to us wheather we do or not realy it is none of your buisness! So we do not go and watch them week in week out but we arn't all made of money and it's not easy to get a lift up there! But when you have supported them from a child you dont just go off then to support Aldershot? You stick with them even if it's watching them on the box! I'm sure everyone here supports Aldershot fully but it's natural to support a higher team and most people do! But you dont FATBOY and that's why it is soooo wrong!

As for copley I dont recall man united ever inheriting a sum of money like you have but when we have had a lot we have used it and won the league not fcked it all up!Look at the amount you have spent and still no outcome I mean yes there going through a "bad spell" but the team are not playing together and they have had all season!

Crespo becomes Chelsea's 11th signing of the summer and brings the total spent on transfer fees since the takeover by Russian billionnaire Roman Abramovich to nearly £95m. I'll repeat that £95m and Lampard and Terry are still the only one's realy shining and Drogba but I still dislike the man like many overs but then the same will be said about Ronny so! But these arguments will just need to be settled at the end of the season! Hmmmm I see united have just let 2 points slip at St James's park ....... Give chelsea a chance spose And I have supported them frm the age of 3! So as for glory hunter ill leave that to the people who turn up to that **** whole that is called Stamford Bridge. I wounder why your attendences have gone up in last 2 years hmmmmm LOYAL SUPPORTERS there!

Got to be said though. Why support a premiership team, when you can never go and see them? I don't see the point myself, but if other feel different, then what can I do to stop them.....

Ah let them support their Glory boy teams.......as long as they turn up at our place every week to cheer the shots on I don't mind. I don't see anything wrong with following a prem team on the telle as long as it dosn't interfere with supporting your club..... ie I get annoyed when Chelsea r on the box when we are playing and our attendance goes down by a few hundred!
Having said that I do go and watch Chelsea reserves play but not that I'm a Chelsea fan.....just a fan of football. Also its cos I know the money is goin to our club as its beein played at the Rec......Certainly wouldn't go to Stamford bridge!!!
1 Question I would like to ask though.......If we make it to the 4th round and draw Man U/Chelsea at home......which side of the East bank would they stand in????

Not a Utd fan but I think its a quality signing......Think he will score against villa on his debut and get 1 over his old manager, O'neil.
Think the Title will go all the way this year which is good to see but shame its same 2 sides battling it out.......good to see Portsmouth doin well tho and hope they make Europe.

Same here quality signing and if it all goes there way and we get hargreaves and torres ill be more than happy But wouldn't you rather man united and chelsea battle than 1 team run off with it?!Because I deff do! Dont forget reading arn't doing to bad 6-0 today there's deffinately a couple more years in the top flight for them eventhough I hate the manager and town!

I know people who "support" Man Utd but when Reading went up they started to "support" (got a season ticket) Reading ASWELL AS Man U. On a one there folders is a "Man U are the best" stickers and on the other side of it is "Reading Till I Die"  needless to say they have the mick taken out of them. How can you "support" TWO premiership teams!!? "So when they play each other who do you "support"?"   They don't have an answer.

I like being a lower league team fan as it makes me feel more like I'm doing something for the club (Like helping the RBA with some displays where possible)

Each to there own I suppose

So, if you've had the opportunities, and you're a supporter, then why don't you take them? I'm sure money isn't an issue, if you're that much of a supporter?

To be fair, the word "support" can be taken in many ways, in effect.... buying a premiership sides merchandise is profit for that club, small as it may be it's still profit so in purchasing a shirt you have actually supported there cause.

People who pay yearly subscriptions for skysports/prem plus etc because they are unable to get to, or aquire tickets for a popular premiership side shouldn't be stripped of the right to class themselves as supporters in my eyes.

Big clubs know that they don't only have the crowds within there grounds rooting for them on matchdays but millions more worldwide, that is definately a confidence boost so even armchair supporters are doing there bit.

As a youngster i was a man utd supporter, i stress on the word supporter because i purchased every bit of merchandise i could get my hands on, watched every game i could on tv but as a child was never lucky enough to get to old trafford.

I now consider myself more of a follower come fan..... i keep an eye on them and like to see them do well but it's not the end of my world as i know it when things go pearshaped.

I think you can support any team regardless of the standard of football they play because for me, supporting a side is all about the passion you have for the side you support.

The proof in this is my passion for aldershot, due to money and commitments as a father to my young child i haven't attended many matches of late but that makes me no less of a supporter than i was last year, because the passion is still there and it's as strong as ever.

Long winded post i know but i've not posted in a while and like i said, i think support is about passion not about how many times your able to go watch your favourite side home and away, although it is much more enjoyable when you're able to go week in week out. =)

I'm not saying anyone is wrong. I just wanted to put my point of view across. I don't think it's wrong to support a premiership team, I just think, in my eyes, that it's a waste of time, if you can never go to the games, and be there, in terms of physical support.

Different people have different opinions, and that was Dylans', this is mine. Andy has his, etc, etc...
